Therapy


Therapy is the process of meeting with a trained professional to take care of your mental and emotional health. A therapist can provide insight into feelings and experiences that may be confusing or are causing stress; and can help you figure out treatment approaches for addressing persistent mental health conditions with suggestions and interventions. There is a common misconception that therapy is only for people who have been diagnosed with a mental health condition, but in reality, people go to therapy for many reasons. These include discussing your life and its emotional ups and downs, working out conflicts, healing and growing from trauma, improving interpersonal skills, and having a safe space to talk with someone who is not a part of your personal life. If you are struggling and need help figuring out a way forward, seeking therapy is a useful first step.

I primarily identify as both a narrative therapist and a systemic therapist. I also frequently use cognitive behavior therapy, solution focused therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy with my clients. I am also well-versed in other models, so please feel free to reach out if there is a specific therapeutic model you might be interested in.

Whether there is a specific issue you want to address or you just want to get in touch with yourself, I’m honored and equipped to accompany you through your emotional exploration. I currently work with individuals aged ten and up.

Couples
Therapy

All relationships have their ups and downs, and I can help you navigate them in an environment where you both will be heard and respected. I do not offer official premarital therapy, but I can work with you prior to your commitment to explore areas of interest to you.

Family
Therapy

Families are not exempt from difficulties. I am able to assist families with a variety of presenting problems, such as but not limited to separations and divorce, conflict, blended families, relocation, adolescence, and aging parents.

The booking process is as follows:

1. Visit my booking page by clicking any “BOOK NOW” button on this website, or by going to https://brightsidebahamas.setmore.com

2. You will be presented with appointment options, please select the one you wish to book.

3. You will then be presented with dates and times which represents my only availability. Please select a convenient slot for you, keeping in mind that if you are booking an appointment (rather than a complimentary consultation) you will have to complete and submit paperwork and/or payment prior to this date and time. Your appointment is confirmed only when paperwork and payment are received.

4. After you select your appointment slot, you will hear from me by email. I will confirm specifics with you and/or send you the necessary information to proceed.
